What is DANCEPL3Y?

DANCE-PLAY is an internationally recognized and accredited physical activity and fitness program that inspires people to get POSITIVE and PLAYFUL through mixed-style DANCE clases.



Why the number 3 in PLAY?

 

The number '3' in PL3Y comes from our THREE RULES of PL3Y, which are taught throughout our dance programs to help participants foster a positive and playful mindset about physical activity and healthy, active living.



What are the 3 Rules of PL3Y?

BE POSITIVE - a positive mindset is a challenging thing to maintain. Coaching cues during dancePL3Y classes inspire participants to develop a positive mindset towards learning, physical activity and being a part of an inclusive and accepting community.

 

BE FUN - if you want to be a FUN person you have to practice being FUN. Developing a playful mindset is a critical element of living a more positive and fun life...

 

BE YOURSELF - dance is a form of self-expression: there is no right or wrong way of BEING YOU. DANCEPL3Y classes are an opportunity for participants to use dance as a platform where they can practice being their awesome and unique selves!

BODY: dancePL3Y classes are designed for maximum participation and movement for everybody! You'll get a great workout as you learn new dance moves, hit the dance floor and get your sweat on.

 

MINDLearning new moves and uniting with a group to execute formations in a playful and positive context helps individuals develop a sense of confidence. By dancing in DANCEPL3Y classes, everyday people have the opportunity to express themselves individually while being part of a group/community,
 

SPIRIT: Dancing is playful and fun - when we do activities that we enjoy, our spirits are lifted, we are happier and we can feel a greater sense of overall health and wellbeing. Being part of a class where you move with others, uniting with individuals and with the music, students gain a sense of community and camaraderie  which contributes to positive mental health.



What should we wear to class?

Make sure you wear comfortable clothing and shoes that inspire you to DANCE, MOVE, and feel great!
